Oval gear flow meter:

This is one of the most common positive displacement flow meters, which measures the flow rate by rotating two intermeshing oval gears under the push of the fluid. It is suitable for the measurement of high viscosity fluids and clean liquids.

 

Waist wheel flow meter (Roots flow meter):

Similar to the oval gear flow meter, but uses a waist wheel (Roots rotor) as the measuring element. There is no direct meshing between the waist wheels, but they are kept in synchronous rotation through an external transmission mechanism. This flow meter is suitable for the measurement of a variety of fluids, including gas and liquid.

Scraper flow meter:

Also known as a form of rotary piston flow meter, it uses a scraper (or rotor) to rotate in the shell and extend and retract along a specific trajectory to form a metering chamber. As the scraper rotates, the fluid is metered. This flow meter is suitable for a variety of clean and slightly impure liquids.

 

Reciprocating piston flow meter:

The flow rate is measured by reciprocating motion of the piston in the shell. Each reciprocating motion of the piston corresponds to a certain amount of fluid passing through. This flowmeter is often used in situations where high-precision measurement is required, such as gas pumps at gas stations.

 

Disc flowmeter (nutation flowmeter):

The disc with a central ball rotates and swings up and down (nutates) in the metering chamber, and the volume of the fluid is calculated by measuring the number of rotations and the amplitude of the nutation of the disc. This flowmeter is commonly used in household water meters and industrial water meters in North America.

 

Diaphragm gas meter:

It is mainly used to measure gas flow, and the volume of the gas is measured by deforming or moving the diaphragm by gas pressure. Although it is mainly used for gas measurement, it can also be regarded as a volumetric flowmeter.

 

Liquid-sealed drum flowmeter (wet gas meter):

The interior is filled with sealing liquid (such as water or oil), and the drum rotates under the impetus of gas or liquid. The volume of the fluid is calculated by measuring the number of rotations of the drum. This flowmeter is particularly suitable for situations where the total volume of gas needs to be measured.

 

Spiral volumetric flowmeter: This flowmeter uses a spiral blade or rotor to rotate in the fluid, and calculates the flow rate by measuring the number of rotations and the geometric dimensions of the blade. It is suitable for measuring a variety of fluids, including high-viscosity liquids and fluids containing solid particles.
