Water flow meter type
There are many types of water flow meters. According to different working principles and application scenarios, they can be roughly summarized into the following categories:
Mechanical water flow meter:
Principle: Use the kinetic energy or pressure difference of the fluid to generate torque, drive the mechanical component to rotate or swing, and transmit it to the pointer or counter through the connecting rod to achieve the measurement of flow.
Common types: Including turbine flow meter, rotor flowmeter, piston flow meter, float flow meter, etc.
Features: Simple structure, intuitive and easy to read, but may be affected by the physical properties of the fluid (such as viscosity, density).
Electromagnetic water flow meter (electromagnetic flowmeter):
Principle: Based on the Faraday electromagnetic induction principle, the flow rate is calculated by measuring the induced electromotive force generated when the conductive liquid flows in the magnetic field.
Features: It has the characteristics of wide measurement range, high accuracy, good linearity, good stability, etc., and is particularly suitable for the measurement of conductive liquids.
Application: Widely used in tap water, chemical industry, metallurgy and other industries.
Principle: Use the vortex effect to measure water flow rate and flow. A vortex sensor with a special shape is installed in the pipeline. When the water flows through, the vortex frequency changes, and the water flow velocity and flow rate are calculated according to the frequency change.
Features: It is suitable for measuring small and medium flow, with simple structure, fast response speed and high reliability.
Application: It is widely used in heating, air conditioning, chemical industry and other fields.
Ultrasonic flow meter:
Principle: Use the ultrasonic propagation time to measure the water flow velocity and flow rate. The water flow velocity and flow rate are calculated by measuring the time difference of ultrasonic propagation in the water flow.
Features: Non-contact measurement, no pressure loss, suitable for various liquid media, especially suitable for the measurement of large flow, high viscosity and corrosive liquids.
Application: It is widely used in water supply, sewage treatment, energy and other fields.
Radar flow meter:
Principle: Use radar beam to measure water flow velocity and flow rate. By emitting radar beam and receiving echo, the water flow velocity and flow rate are calculated according to the time difference and frequency change of echo.
Features: Non-contact measurement, suitable for various liquid media, not limited by pipe material and diameter.
Application: Especially suitable for measuring large flow, high viscosity and corrosive liquids, such as chemical, petroleum, water treatment and other industries.
Doppler flowmeter:
Principle: Use the Doppler effect to measure water flow rate and flow. By emitting ultrasonic signals and receiving echoes, the water flow rate and flow are calculated according to the frequency change of the echo.
Features: Suitable for situations where the liquid contains particles or bubbles, such as sewage, concrete slurry, etc.
Application: Widely used in water supply, drainage, environmental protection and other fields.
Each water flow meter has its specific application scenarios and advantages and disadvantages. When choosing, it is necessary to make comprehensive considerations based on actual needs and conditions.
